Charles Stanley Irvin, age 89, formerly of Columbiaville passed to heaven on February 23, 2018 at the Lapeer Medical Care Facility with his loving family beside him.
Charles was born May 19, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Jasper and Edith Irvin. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, and later married Ivy Rose Vogan on October 18, 1952 in Royal Oak. They shared 63 years of love and adventure together before her death on November 18, 2015. Charles was a member of American Legion Post #21 in Independence, MO, and he and Ivy owned and operated numerous businesses in different states. Charles was a truck driver for over 35 years, and a was a farmer that enjoyed raising animals, working on model airplanes & cars, traveling and sightseeing all but 2 of our states, but most of all he enjoyed sharing stories with people, especially his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his children: Debbie (Tim) Crockett, Shawn (Steve) Davis, Dawn (Brian) Boyd, daughter in-law Pam Irvin, siblings: Denny Irvin, Mary Ellen (Vic), and grandchildren: Mandy, Tim, Kacee’, Carrie, Chayla, Deven, Chandler, great-grandchildren: Natalie, Luke, Emily, Kennedy, Peyton, Ivy, and Ryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Chuck, siblings: Merlin, Roland, Edith, and Rita. The family extends a special thank-you to the staff of Suncrest for taking excellent care of our dad during his last days.
