Obituary of Roy Wilbert Woodward Jr.

Roy (Butch) Woodward passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021.  He was born January 26, 1946 to Florence (Capling) and Roy W Woodward Sr. He had celebrated his 75th birthday one month ago. He grew up in Metamora and was a Lapeer area resident his entire lifetime.  He attended school in Imlay City and graduated in the class of 1965.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.  He worked for General Motors for 43 years, retiring in 2006.  He married the love of his life, Patty Cichoracki on April 14, 1979.  She preceded him in death Dec.15, 2014.  He enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiles, bowling, classic cars and washing and waxing his vehicles.  His favorite pastime was his daily trips to Max's Bakery for his cup of coffee, apple fritter and conversation with friends. He will be sadly missed by his son Roy, daughters Nicol (Brian) Granz, and April (Craig) Hurd.  The special sunshine in his life was his granddaughters Breanna Woodward and Addison Woodward, grandsons, Brian Granz Jr, Nick Granz and Danny Loveless and Paul Hurd and 5 great grandchildren.  He is survived by his sister, Pat Smith and brother-in-law Ray Jackson, sister-in-law Denise (Rick) Schlaud, Dennis (Leona) Cichoracki Jr, and Robin (Liz) Cichoracki and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Pat and his mother and father in-law, Dennis and Janet Cichoracki Sr., his siblings Jim (Carol) Woodward, Rosie Jackson, Eleanor (Bob)Van Dyke and brother-in-law Glen Smith.  A Celebration of Roys' Life will be held 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at First Apostolic Church of Imlay City, where family and friends may visit 1:30 PM till time of service.
