Obituary of Marie Helen DeLine

Marie Helen DeLine, 79, of Fostoria passed away Friday March 12, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in McLaren, Flint.

She was born October 19, 1941 in Detroit to Michael and Florence (Chippeway) Murphy. Marie grew up in St. Ignace. On June 19, 1965 she married Kenneth “Poncho” DeLine in Columbiaville. Shortly thereafter they moved to Fostoria where she has lived for 55 years.

Marie liked visiting with friends over a cup of coffee, playing cards, and bowling. In her later years she would still go to weekly bowling leagues to visit with lifelong friends. Those who knew Marie knew she had a large heart for her animals – cat and dogs, especially Golden Retrievers. As much as she loved her animals, she thought the world of her grandkids.

Left behind to cherish Marie’s memory are sons Tony (Annette) Bazinaw of Muskegon and Kenneth (Janet) DeLine of Imlay City; only grandson Trey (Lisa) Bazinaw of North Branch; great-grandchildren Vera and Henry Bazinaw of North Branch; sister Connie Mayer of Rudyard; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Poncho, sister Florence “Flo” LaTour, and brothers-in-law John LaTour and Francis Mayer.

Cremation has taken place and a prayer service will be held 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in North Branch on Friday, March 26, 2021, where family and friends may visit 10:00 AM till time of service. A graveside gathering for close family and friends will follow and her ashes will be buried with her beloved Poncho.   Cremation arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.   Memorials in Marie’s name may be directed to Paradise Animal Rescue in Lapeer.
