Obituary of Arlene Judith Olbrys

Arlene Judith Olbrys, age 81, of Dryden, MI, formerly of Detroit, MI entered eternal life unexpectedly of natural causes on May 1, 2021.

Arlene was born September 30, 1939 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late John F Sr. and Agnes J Sroka (Piskorski/Palmowski).  Arlene retired from the Detroit Waste Water Treatment Plant. She was proud of the fact that she was the first women Assistant Superintendent. Arlene had a love for homeless animals. She loved feeding the neighborhood cats, birds, and other wildlife. Her later years were spent online shopping, watching old movies, and eating her favorite foods. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her pet kitties whom she cherished.

Arlene is survived by her children: Joseph (Tara) Olbrys, Gary (Kim-Hao) Olbrys, Catherine (Michael Mitchell) Warshay (Olbrys), Deborah (Patrick Loney) Olbrys, siblings: Kenneth Sroka, Gary (Debbie) Sroka, Joseph (Tina) Sroka, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many step-grandchilden and step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sarah Marie, brother John F Jr., grandson Christopher, step-grandson John, and her beloved dogs: Nina and Buddy.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday May 10th beginning at 10:00 AM at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak, MI.  Inurnment in the Crypt immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
