Obituary of Norman Douglas Mapes

Norman Douglas Mapes, age 68, died suddenly on June 9, 2021 at home.

Norman was born July 11, 1952 in Goodrich, Michigan to the late Norman and Thelma Mapes.  He was a ordained minister and machinist at Dexter Roll Form before leaving in 1988.  He enjoyed western tv shows, classic country music, and was an avid car enthusiast.  

Norman is survived by his children: Angela (Clay) Mapes, Kelli Mapes, Norman Mapes Jr., siblings: Melody (Lynn) Marble, Terri Simmons, Delight (Dan) Wilson, Kelly Duff, Ed (Jackie) Newcomb, five grandchildren: Miranda, Jayden, Robert (Kori), Raquel, Riley, two great-grandchildren: Serenity, Penelope, and the mother of his children & close friend Clara Adkins.  He was preceded in death by is parents, daughter Jennifer, grandson Jacob, siblings: Bud, Larry, Jean, Dale, and Scott.  

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Norman’s Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
