Obituary of Timmy Ray Thornsberry
Please share a memory of Timmy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Timmy Ray Thornsberry, 62, entered the Kingdom of God on October 22, 2021 in Lapeer, Michigan surrounded by family. He was born May 21, 1959 in Sidney, Ohio to his parents Salmer and Thelma (Frasure) Thornsberry. Tim's family moved around. They lived in Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan during his youth. After graduating from Allen Central High School in Eastern, Kentucky, in 1977, he attended Eastern Kentucky University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journlism/Broadcasting in 1985. He spent over 25 years working in customer service, management and sales. Some of his many positions included Project Management, Customer Service Management, Call Center Management and Sales Management. He was joyfully enjoying retirement.
After graduating from college he married Pamela (Poole) Thornsberry and they resided in Louisville, Kentucky where they raised three daughters. After divorcing, he settled down in Michigan where he met his wife Elizabeth in 2013. It was a whirlwind romance and they were inseparable. After retiring, they have had many great adventures including a once in a life time trip around the western states. Retirement was a blessing that allowed Tim to have the time to pursue singing, playing his guitars, fishing, camping, being a Grandpa, traveling, exploring dirt roads, visiting state parks and examining historical sites. He has spent the last five winters in Georgia and summers in Michigan.
There were two driving forces in Tim's life, his love for his family and his love for God. We take comfort in knowing Tim is living his greatest dream residing in his Father's house. Tim will always remain in our hearts and memories until we meet again.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Goepfert Thornsberry, his daughters: Rachel (Richard) Rich, Sarah (Eric) Dickinson and Jessica Thornsberry , his step children: Jenifer Ramer, Ryan Forney, Sarah (Jesse) Middleton, Robert Goepfert II, his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Goepfert, Robert Goepfert III, Spencer Dunkle, and Myra Ramer, brothers: Salmer Thornsberry Jr., Jamie Bruce (Barbara) Thornsberry, David (Diane) Thornsberry, sisters: Elaine (William) Miller, Jenienne Thornsberry Allison, countless nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins from Ohio and a few special friends, Chuck Holland, Josh Johnson and Dan Moffit.
He was preceded in death by his parents Salmer and Thelma Thornsberry, sister: Teresa Margrif, sister-in- law: Brenda Thornsberry, brothers:, Kenneth Thorsberry, Jerry Thornsberry, Anthony Thornsberry, Randy Thornsberry.
Tim has been cremated according to his wishes and a private celebration of his life will take place on October 30, 2021. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a favorite charity supported by Elvis, in Tim's honor. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
