Mary Ann (Nan) Stanczak, 71, of Lapeer, MI, passed away on April 7, 2022. Nan was a former resident of Berkley, MI and Douglas Lake in Pellston, MI.
Nan was born on May 14, 1950 to John and Geraldine Woodcock. She grew up in Royal Oak, MI and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968. Nan went on to raise a family and earn a BA in Economics from University of Detroit. After a long career as a specialist with the Social Security Administration, Nan and her husband Ted moved to live in their vacation home on Douglas Lake full time. Nan enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, quilting, traveling, music, lake life, and spending time with her beloved granddaughters. Nan is remembered as being very kind, loving, generous, intelligent, and fun to be around. She will be greatly missed.
Nan is survived by her children, Karen (Jason) Kohn and Christopher Charette; granddaughters, Abigail, Lily, Natalie, and Emily; and many loving siblings, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Nan is preceded in death by her husband Ted Stanczak.
Funeral services are not planned at this time. Instead of sending flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice in honor of Nan's giving spirit.
