Obituary of Karin Isabella Havens

Karin Isabella Havens, age 79, of Columbiaville was a caring mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and a loveable social butterfly. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2022 while surrounded by family who will continue to honor her legacy and memories.

Karin was born July 3, 1942 in Kamenz, Germany to the late Johann and Barbara Florescul. After graduating from Business School for girls in Mannheim, Germany she worked at Gerling Konzern in Mannheim until May of 1962. In October of 1962 she left for the USA with her first husband (Bobbie Moler) and Daughter Caroline. They had their 2nd daughter Monica in 1968. In 1978 Karin met, “the love of her life”, Ira Havens. They married in 1980 and had 31 wonderful years of marriage together. Karin worked at Wonderland Travel in Flint from 1965 to 1988 then part time at Terry Allen Travel in Flint until 1994. Karin loved traveling, crocheting, crafts, bingo and going to the Lapeer Rec Center.

Karin is survived by her children: Caroline (Brock) Beaman, Monica Rico, Paul (Marcia) Havens, Mark (Julie) Havens, 13 Grandchildren; Brock Jr., Joe G, Vienna, Christina, Rob, Amy, Kristina, Michael, Joshua, Jeremey, Kelsey, Austin, Elijah, 29 Great-Grandchildren and lifelong friend Gisela Walch. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gerhard Florescul and husband Ira Havens.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Karin’s Life will be held 11:00 AM on June 6, 2022 at Lapeer Assembly of God West located at 5065 Coldwater Rd. Lapeer, MI 48446. Memorial contributions in memory of Karin may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis or the American Cancer Society.
