Obituary of Joan Lee Dykes

Joan Lee Dykes, age 89, of Otter Lake entered eternal life June 16, 2022 

Joan was born November 27, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and Elizabeth Raehtz.  She married Robert Dykes on November 4, 1977 in Imlay City, Michigan.  Joan was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic church in Otisville, where she belonged to the women’s guild and sang in the church choir.  She was a past Red Hatter, enjoyed playing the piano, watching movies - especially anything with Kevin Costner in it.  She was also a devoted Tigers Fan, and followed NASCAR; One of her favorite memories was the train ride she and Bob took to the west coast.

Joan is survived by her children: Lynn (Dean) Becker, Michael Friedenstab, 2 grandchildren: Daniel (Kate) Becker, David (Bailey) Becker, and 1 great-grandchild Sadie.  Other close relatives and friends surviving are her cousin Jan Barden, Stacy & Patti Stimson, Colleen & Ed LaBean, Alice & Mark Campbell, Mary & Gary Peterson, Penny Sterling, and her St. Frances Xavier Church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandparents George & Frances Neumann

A celebratory mass of Christian burial will take place 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022  at St Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, Michigan. Family and friends may visit at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 20, 2022.  Father Kenneth Coughlin Celebrant.   Interment Ferguson Cemetery in Almont, Michigan.    Memorial contributions in memory of Joan may be made to St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church Otisville.
