Obituary of Stephen Theodore Rudowski
Colonel Stephen Theodore Rudowski Jr., age 90, of North Branch went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 2, 2022 at home with his loving wife of 45 years beside him while battling cancer.
Stephen was born August 10, 1931 in Schenectady, New York to the late Stephen Sr. and Wanda [Zielinski]. He was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in North Branch. Colonel Stephen Rudowski Jr. served his country honorably in the United States Air Force before retiring. Colonel Rudowski served in the Civil Air Patrol for 26 years, and was instrumental in organizing the Lapeer Civil Air Patrol and Served as Michigan Wing Commander before retiring. Stephen enjoyed golf and spending time with his wife. Stephen was also a member of the American Legion Post #1 in France, Lapeer VFW Post 4139, and the Air Force Association.
Stephen is survived by his wife Mary Margaret, children: Monique Gibbs, Robert (Barbara) Rudowski, Catherine (Robert) Keen, Robert Dillon, 6 grandchildren: Thomas (Sarah) Gibbs, Marianne (Jory) Krieger, Eliot Dillon, great-grandchildren: Brooke, Cheyanne, Emma, Everly, and Remy. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Anne of 21 years, and brother Robert.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Stephen’s Life will take place 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at New Life in Christ Lutheran Church in North Branch. Pastor Joe Schierlinger officiating. Colonel Rudowski's cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM with honors. Memorial contributions in memory of Stephen may be made to the Air Force Aid Society in Washington. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
