Obituary of Virginia Mae Batey

Virginia Mae Batey, age 81, of Lapeer died July 7, 2022 at the Pines Memory Care in Lapeer.  

Virginia was born September 12, 1940 in Success, Arkansas to the late Eugene and Zuma Phillips.  She married Bobby Batey on January 25, 1958 in Flint, Michigan.  Virginia attended the Church of Christ in Flint and Otisville.   She enjoyed golf, bowling, tennis, working in her flower gardens, but most of all she loved spending time with her family & friends - especially when she got to cook for them all.  Virginia and Bob have rode motorcycles in all 48 continental states with their good friends Sonny & Gerrie Giss.  

Virginia is survived by her husband Bob, daughters: Pam (Jeff) Weingartz, Janet Hebberd, 8 grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave) Wallace, TJ (Michelle) Peplinski, Bob (Laura) Peplinski, Alex Wilde, Jacob Weingartz, Haley Weingartz, Andrew (Stephanie) Hebberd, Rachel (Mark) VanHaverbeck, and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Vicki, brother Bob, and son-in-law Kim.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Virginia‘s Life will take place at a later date.  Memorial contributions in memory of Virginia may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.   Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.   Share memories, condolences, and pictures online with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com
