Obituary of Robert Dean Harris

Robert Dean Harris, age 80, of Columbiaville died unexpectedly on July 11, 2022 at home.  

Dean was born April 12, 1942 in Lake City, Michigan to the late Robert and Edna.  He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, and was a member of American Legion Post #16 in Lapeer.  He married Della Jean Linn on July 18, 1964 in Flint, Michigan.  Dean enjoyed golf, travel, woodworking, hunting & fishing, farming, grinding his own horseradish, playing a friendly game of Hand + Foot or dominoes, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.  He told Della everyday he loved her and that she was beautiful.  

Dean is survived by his wife Della of 58 years, children: Michael (Becky) Harris of Columbiaville, Wendy (Ed) Weeks of Columbiaville, 5 grandchildren: Malysa (Alex) Hadland of Davison, Meghan (Jason) Bruckner of Lapeer, Kayla (Chris Reger) Morris of Davison, Bryan (Stephanie) Harris of Davison, Jake (Kalee) Weeks of South Carolina, great grandchildren: Ellie, Conner, Bryson, Brynlee, Easton, Laynee, brother in-law Richard Pearson, several nieces & nephews, and his dog Misty.   He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle, siblings: Edgar, Edna Marie, James, and dog Angel.  

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Dean’s Life will take place 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Columbiaville Community Center.  Pastor Gilmore Smith officiating.  Memorial contributions in memory of Dean may be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan.  Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.  Share memories, condolences, and photos online with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com
