Obituary of Laurie Jaye Battiste

Laurie Battiste, age 66, of Otisville died July 25, 2022 at McLaren Hospital in Flint.  

Laurie was born February 22, 1956 in Harrison Twp., Michigan to the late James and Judy Franklin.   She married Ronald Battiste on August 10, 1974. Laurie retired from a career as a Registered Nurse in 2009.  Laurie and Ron bred Boxer dogs together since 1976 and were known for their quality show blood line.  She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching, music and reading.  

Laurie is survived by her husband Ron, children: Ben (Jennifer) Battiste, Brooke Battiste, siblings: Tad (Diana) Franklin, Natalie (Jeremy) Brown, Jill (Steve) Lopez, step-mother Syble, and grandson Tyrion.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Laurie’s Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.  Memorial contributions in memory of Laurie may be made to the Eastern Michigan Food Bank or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  Share memories, condolences, and pictures online with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com
