Obituary of Anneliese Emma Schubert

Anneliese Emma Schubert (Ludtke), 89, passed peacefully on December 11, 2022, at Brookhaven Assisted Living in Columbiaville, Michigan. Anne as the staff would call her, was lovingly cared for by April (House Manager) and the staff until her last moments on earth.  Anneliese (Anne as some have affectionately called her) was born March 15, 1933, in Berlin, Germany. In February 1960, Anneliese married Helmut Schubert in Berlin, Germany, the following year they immigrated to Canada. Anneliese was part of various organizations such as the Lions Club, The German Club and The Kiwanas she was always finding time to help those in her community. Anneliese and her family moved to Grosse Ile, Michigan in 1975 where she was an integral member of the community. Anneliese was a vibrant, vivacious lady who loved any reason to entertain and cook for friends and family.


Anneliese moved to Grosse Pointe Michigan and worked as a member of the Grosse Pointe South High School Kitchen staff fueling one of her passions in cooking and baking. She loved providing fun, nutritious meals while providing fun themes for the kids. She worked for the Grosse Pointe Public School Systems and loved her job. Anneliese loved to travel she got to see many different countries such as Italy, Vatican City, Montenegro, Greece, Switzerland, Belgium, Hungary, Lichtenstein, Spain, UK, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Canada, and Mexico.


Anneliese is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Helmut, her sister Jutta, and her special friend Willis. She is survived by her sons Jack (Amy) Schubert, Craig (Diego) Schubert. Beloved Grandmother of Jena (Ryan) Schubert, Jack (Ashley) Schubert Jr. and Cecelia Schubert. Great Grandmother of Kenzie, Jack, Thomas. Brother-in-law Jack (Ursula) Schubert, her godson Jurgen, numerous nieces and nephews, Dieter (Trudel) and Henry (Erika) Bessler friends that were dear family to her along with numerous others.


Anneliese’s memorial service will be held on May 6th, 2023, at St. Anne’s Chapel in Grosse Ile Michigan at 11:30 AM. Where her ashes will lay to rest beside her husband’s. Followed by a luncheon afterwards for friends and family.
