Obituary of Betty I Cranick

Betty Cranick, age 95, of Lapeer passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 peacefully with family by her side.

Betty was born September 16, 1927 in Flint to the late Clair and Leola Carey.  She later married Raymond “Bud” Cranick on September 7, 1946 and had 3 children during their 59 years of marriage.  Over the years Betty and Bud owned and operated Bud’s Bulldozing, they were a great team and she became his right hand woman.  Betty enjoyed bowling, cooking, gardening, playing cards, traveling, fishing, and camping on the property in Mio, but most of all she loved spending time with family & friends.  She was the most generous, caring, and thoughtful person and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. 

Betty is survived by her children: Bruce Cranick, Dawn (Art) Lewis, daughter-in-law Terri Cranick, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, siblings Clair Carey, Burnie Diamond, sisters-in-law’s Carrie Cranick and Barbara Cranick. 

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Betty’s Life will take place 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville, where family and friends may visit 11:00 AM till time of service.  Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to charity of your choice.    Betty’s cremated remains will be buried at Oregon Twp.
