Obituary of Frederick W. Mursu

Frederick W. Mursu, 87 years; recently of Lapeer County Michigan; passed from this life in the late hours of April 3rd. Born July 10, 1930 in Hancock Michigan; he was preceded in death by his parents; Frederick H. Mursu and Lydia Hilma Matta; brother William; sisters Bernice, Ellen, Ruth, Margaret, Phyllis; his beloved and devoted wife, Sue and precious great-grandson Max Rose (Joe and Kelly). Fred is survived by his sister, Joyce Bouldrey (Kenneth) of Spanish Fort, Alabama; his former wife Sandra (Post) and their children: Sheryl Denzer (Steven); Frederick; Richard (Cynara); June Hempton-Matichuk (Donald); Douglas; David; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred served in the U.S. Army during 1953-1955, stationed in Germany and afterward plied the highways for F. J. Boutell Driveaway Co. out of Pontiac Michigan. He and his family eventually settled on a farm in the Ortonville area; enjoying their dogs, cats, pigs, a lamb and calf, horses and 4-H activities, snowmobiles in winter, haying in the summer; mini-bikes; family picnics and friends...until Life led him to move to the sunny climes and renewal on the west coast. His was an eventful life as a long-haul, independent trucker; sometimes shared with sons Fred and Richard, after his many years with Boutell; though not an easy one. ~ Fred will be missed by all who loved him; family and friends. We are thankful he is at peace at last. That he has gone home and is well-met ~~ Cremation has taken place.
