William “Bill” Darwin Vaughan, age 78, of Columbiaville died on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.
William was born March 1, 1940 in Grand Blanc to the late Gilbert Durwood Vaughan and Wavelle June Baldin. On February 2, 1962 he married Madeline Potter in Flint, MI.
He worked as a tin smith for Buick until his retirement in 2006. Bill enjoyed drag racing, working on cars, and had built a few race cars. Bill was a lifetime member of the National Hot Rod Association. Most of all, Bill loved to spend time with his family and friends.
William is survived by: his wife, Madeline; children, John (Lori) Vaughan, Jason Vaughan; siblings, Gail (Bruce) Mills, Greg (Cheryl) Vaughan, Toni (Richard) Welton; 3 grandchildren, Timothy, Jason, and Nicole; 1 great-grandchild, Logan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by is brothers Bart and Dave.
Memorial contributions in memory of William may be made to the N.H.R.A. (National Hot Rod Association.
Cremation has taken place, and a gathering will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 1pm-3pm, with a Memorial Service at 3pm at Jansen Family Funeral Home in Columbiaville. Pastor Roger Keur will be officiating.
