Carol Maxwell, 71 years of age, passed away quietly at her home on Monday, November 12th after a valiant battle with cancer.
Carol was born September 16th, 1947 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Harold and Ada Bonner. She was the oldest of four children.
Carol married Jeff Maxwell on February 26, 1966. Together they raised two children. They moved to North Branch in 1973. During those years she worked as a hairdresser and an aerobics instructor but her proudest accomplishment was taking part in the lives of her grandchildren Hunter and Dylan.
She was happiest during their times at the cabin up north, especially during bear season when she helped Jeff and the boys run the baits for the family hunts. Her grandsons were the light of her life and family was everything to her. She also cherished time spent bowling and golfing with her "girls". Everyone who knew her fell in love with her smile. She was a very private person and, as per her wishes, no service will be held. However, her family will host a Celebration of Life after the holiday season.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Berchie Maxwell; her parents Harold and Ada Bonner; her brother David and special friends Donna Fricke and Lee Taylor. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Jeff; her children Carrie (Bernie) Fruechtel, and Brian (Becky) Maxwell; two grandsons Hunter and Dylan Maxwell; two sisters Kathy Hockstad and Sandy Griffin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and of special mention, her dear friends Jane and Sheila.
