Marvin B. Strong, age 79, of Columbiaville died April 21, 2019 at McLaren - Flint.
Marvin was born September 26, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Bernard and Celeah Strong. He served his country honorably in the Michigan National Guard, and later married Marlene Lambert on June 25, 1960 in Columbiaville. Marvin and Marlene owned and operated Lamberts IGA in Columbiaville until 2001, and then later he worked as a butcher for Walkers Meat & Deli counter. He was a member of the Columbiaville United Methodist Church, and bowled on a few leagues at Gerlachs Bowling in Lapeer. Marvin enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating, golfing, walking his dog Morgan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his children: Lisa Strong, Darryl (Lynne) Strong, LaDene (Douglas) Lyon, siblings: Bruce (Sharon) Strong, Larry (Sharon) Strong, Jeanette (Bill) Edwards, grandchildren: Nicholas, Scott (Fiancé Kate), Spencer, Christina, Jenavieve, great-grandchildren: Charli Lynne, and Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
Funeral service 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Columbiaville United Methodist Church, and friends may visit Friday 3:00 to 9:00 PM at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Interment Wood Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Esther Irish officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Marvin may be made to the church.
