Mary Lou LaFond, age 85, a lifelong resident of Barnes Lake died August 24, 2019 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital with her loving family beside her.
Mary Lou was born August 27, 1933 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Harry and Ethel LaFortune. She later married Wilfred “Bill” LaFond. Mary Lou was an active member at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Otter Lake, where she served as a catechist. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in North Branch, where she served as a past worthy Matron. Mary Lou was a Master Gardener, and a member of the Barnes Lake Club, Otter Lake Literacy Club, Flint Doll Club, and Red Hat Dollies.
Mary Lou is survived by her children: David (Pamela) LaFond, Barry (Kimberly) LaFond, Scott (Cyndi) LaFond, Renee (Larry) Grant, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and close friend Betty J. Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robin, sister Corinne, son in-law Matthew, and 3 great-grandchildren baby angels.
Funeral service 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Otter Lake, where friends may visit 11:00 AM till time of service.
Reverend Ann Norton officiated. Interment Deerfield Township Cemetery next to her husband Bill. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
